The Anchor
Mission Statement:
At The Anchor Learning Center, we partner with families to provide a Christ-centered hybrid education that nurtures academic excellence, fosters independent learning, and cultivates hearts anchored in faith. Through a blend of in-person community and flexible asynchronous learning, we empower students to grow in knowledge, character, and purpose.
What does this mean for families?
After years in the field of education, we have realized the dire need for a flexible learning environment in our community. Our purpose here at The Anchor Learning Center is to provide an environment for children in which they can have access to Tier 1 curriculum, but also move along at their own pace through the academic year.
It is no surprise that all students are different. Some may excel at math, and need to devote more time to Language Arts. We acknowledge that at The Anchor, and we provide support during asynchronous learning for each student.
What is asynchronous learning?
An asynchronous learning environment allows students to work online at their own pace throughout the academic year. Students can coexist in the same room, but work on different topics/subjects/grade levels as they are being guided by videos and online platforms. Additionally, students can complete their work anywhere internet access is available and not miss a beat, in terms of the curriculum. Flexibility at its finest!
What curriculum would my child use?
All curriculum used by The Anchor Learning Center is defined as Tier 1 by the LDOE. Tier 1 - Exemplifies Quality: Meets all non-negotiable criteria and scored the best possible on all indicators of superior quality (LDOE Website). This ensures that students enrolled at The Anchor will stay on track with their peers in other learning environments.
